Event Series (See All)
Online Visual Art Workshop with Veteran Artist Valerie Acosta

Artist Series: Jaune Quick-To-See Smith

This month, join Veteran Artist Valerie Acosta for a creative and inspiring session exploring the powerful art and life of Jaune Quick-To-See Smith. A celebrated American Indigenous artist and activist, her work tells stories of identity, history, and resistance. We’ll dive into her mixed media pieces, explore the themes she tackles, and reflect on how her voice resonates in today’s world. We will create a piece based on her artwork. As always follow along or work on your own project.

Suggested Supplies:

  • Canvas or paper
  • Acrylic Paint
  • Brushes
  • Other media: Jeune Smith used magazine cut-outs in her art
  • Other media: Matte medium or glue
