Join author of Well, I Didn’t See That Coming: My Journey from the CIA to Life with Post-Concussion Syndrome, Kathryn Roche for Memoir Writing: What’s the Story? on Thursday, August 7th at 7 PM EST. Kathryn Roche, whose memoir was published in May, will discuss the memoir-writing process—including finding your voice and figuring out where to start your story—and the lessons she learned along the way. We will close the workshop with a writing prompt.
Ticket sales from this fundraising workshop will benefit Mission Belonging programs for veterans, service members, military families, and health care workers. A limited number of FREE tickets for Veterans, Service Members, and Healthcare workers are available on a first come, first served basis. This workshop will be recorded, and a link will be e-mailed to all ticket holders once the recording is available.*
Kathryn Roche worked at the Central Intelligence Agency for nearly fourteen years and is the author of Well, I Didn’t See That Coming: My Journey from the CIA to Life with Post-Concussion Syndrome. In what turned into her last position with the CIA, she was the first chief of a human performance, resiliency, and transition program for the CIA’s paramilitary officers. While in that position, she was in a car accident that ultimately left her with post-concussion syndrome, which affected her autonomic nervous system and forced her to retire from the CIA due to medical disability. She hopes her story will shine a light on the complexity of brain injury, offer connection to those in the midst of their own life-shifting journey, and propel people to be intentional about maintaining their well-being.
