Join author and poet, Caryn Mirriam-Goldberg, for a fundraising workshop benefiting Mission Belonging.
Facilitating arts-based workshops, can help us transform flurries of freak-outs, bouts of despair, and stretches of hopeless into a more generous, expansive, and even joyful experience of what’s possible — for both workshop participants and facilitators. This is especially essential in our current often-chaotic and sometimes-terrifying time when we need to show up with our best attention and compassion to hold brave space for people to speak their truths and express their being. Yet one of the side benefits to stepping into our work as facilitators is that we can also find uplift, clarity, and meaning as we share creative space with our participants to name and claim what really matters.
In this participatory workshop, we’ll look at the healing power of facilitation for facilitators and how to navigate moments when we’re struggling, anxious, lost, and/or sad. As Eleanor Roosevelt says, “Most of the work that’s done in the world gets done by people who weren’t feeling all that well at the time that they did it.” Magically enough, sometimes in doing that work, we find our way to more peace, lightness, and ease well beyond the workshop.
Ticket sales from this fundraising workshop will benefit Mission Belonging programs for veterans, service members, military families, and health care workers. A limited number of FREE tickets for Veterans, Service Members, and Healthcare workers are available on a first come, first served basis. This workshop will be recorded, and a link will be e-mailed to all ticket holders once the recording is available.*
