No creative writing experience required! Join Community Building Art Works for our monthly community building creative writing workshop in partnership with Strathmore. December’s workshop will be led by Sufian Zhemukov, who will guide writers through the key elements that make a good story, including devices of plot, character, surprise, and humor. Each participant will pick a story from their life and craft it into a concise essay designed to be performed.Tickets can be found here.

December’s workshop will be located in the Strathmore Mansion. Doors at 6:30, workshop begins promptly at 7 pm.

About the series: Led by accomplished authors, these generative workshops focus on the craft of writing as a tool for introspection, communication, and connection. Bring a pen, a notebook, and an open mind! Tickets are free, but we appreciate a donation of $10-$30 to support our programs. Your donation will fund similar workshops at military hospitals.

About the facilitator: Dr. Sufian N. Zhemukhov is Associate Research Professor of International Affairs at the Institute for European, Russian and Eurasian Studies, Elliott School of International Affairs, George Washington University. He is an award winning storyteller, building connections with audiences through well told stories.
