Online Visual Art Workshop with Veteran Artist Valerie Acosta

In this workshop we will be playing with gel plate prints. These are a wonderful way of exploring with different mediums and layers to create dimensional images and unexpected results. Valerie will explain a bit about the process and then we will try our best to get some successful prints! If you don’t have a gel plate you can always join us and work on your own project.

Suggested Supplies:

  • gel plate
  • brayer
  • acrylic medium
  • acrylic paint (soft body and fluid work best)
  • mixed media paper
  • different materials to make textures (tissue paper, bubble wrap, palette knives, etc.)
  • washi tape (optional)
  • hand wipes or cleaning wipes to clean plate between prints
